READ, GROW, INSPIRE
Since 1945 the Children's Book Council of Australia has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. The great news is that schools and public libraries get to spend one exciting week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Thats not all...Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians can create colourful displays, develop activities, run competitions and tell stories relating to a different theme each year to highlight the importance of reading. There is so much to do in this glorious week where schools will often put on parades with students dressed as their favourite book character. This is a lot of fun for everyone and a great way to inspire the reader in us all!
To help celebrate book week and the love of books, World of Nancy D'Agostino invites you all to dress us as one of the characters from her debut book "Hullabaloo The Funky Singing Monkey' and have your own street parade at school just like in the book. To top it off, make sure you let your teachers know that they can book an in school book tour where you can all meet Author Nancy D'Agostino in person and have an awesome day to remember!
